February Heart Health Challenge

Physical activity guidelines require adults get 150 minutes a week of moderate to vigorous aerobic activity to get basic health benefits in the fight against heart disease, diabetes and obesity.

We are challenging you get 210 minutes per week to challenge your fitness levels.

Participate in the challenge to be entered for prizes. Challenge calendars can be found at the fitness desk. Track your activity with stickers or simply with check marks for every 30 minutes of aerobic activity.

Moderate intensity activity means that you are starting to sweat and breathe a little harder but can still maintain a steady conversation. An example would be brisk walking.

Vigorous intensity activity means that you are sweaty and feeling out of breath and are having difficulty speaking in full sentences. An example of this would be jogging or cross-country skiing.
